Hockey Helps is very happy to announce the final results from the 31 Masks for 31 Charities initiative. We partnered with Ubisoft Canada, the makers of Assassin’s Creed III, and Montreal Canadiens all-star goalie Carey Price for a special promotion in which fans would select a replica mask themed to the video game, and the mask would then be re-created 31 times to be auctioned off to benefit 31 unique charities. The winners of these auctions would receive one of the 31 masks, individually hand-signed and numbered by Price himself.
Hockey Helps is tremendously proud to announce that the initiative raised a grand total of $27,398!
First and foremost, we would like to thank you, our supporters, for your extraordinary efforts during this initiative. You have generously given to support 31 excellent causes that will be able to use these new resources to help make a difference in the lives of many people across Canada and throughout the world. Hockey Helps salutes all of you for providing a valuable assist to these organizations!
What happens next? For the 31 auction winners, this is just the beginning! All of the winners will be invited to a very special gala event taking place in Montreal, QC, on January 31st. Those who are able to attend will be given the VIP treatment, and will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Carey Price, have him sign their mask and receive it from him directly in person! It will be an incredible night to remember, as this gala event will feature appearances by many members of the Montreal Canadiens, past and present, a live auction, and so much more. Bring your camera and be prepared to have an absolutely amazing evening! More information will be made available as details for the event are finalized.
Hockey Helps would like to shine a spotlight on the Tim Horton’s Children’s Foundation. This organization was a very active partner with Hockey Helps throughout the initiative, and their efforts were rewarded greatly. The Foundation will be the largest beneficiary of the 31 Masks for 31 Charities initiative, as this auction (the winner of which will receive Mask #6/31) raised an incredible $2,012!!! These funds will benefit the Foundation’s core programs, which will benefit over 15,000 children across Canada every year, allowing economically disadvantaged youth aged 13 to 18 to participate in the Year Round Group Program, Residential Camp Program or Youth Leadership Program free of any cost to them or their families. Supporters will be familiar with the Camp Day fundraising initiative that Tim Horton’s conducts at its retail outlets each June. Hockey Helps is very proud to provide assistance to this great organization, and we encourage our supporters to learn more about the Tim Horton’s Children’s Foundation by visiting their website at www.thcf.com and joining their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/timhortonchildrensfoundation. Congratulations to the Tim Horton’s Children’s Foundation, and we look forward to working with you again in the future!
